About the event

Constructing Futures will highlight the future of construction and design for the built environment, with a particular focus on robotics, additive manufacturing, computational design, and AI. The installation, exhibition, lectures, and workshops will serve as a platform to facilitate crucial conversations around these emerging technologies, bringing together stakeholders from cultural institutions, universities, and industry partners.  Mass production and industrial robotics emerged from the automotive industry in Detroit. Building on this rich history, the exhibition will delve into the transformative potential of robotics, additive manufacturing (AM), computational design, and artificial intelligence (AI) specifically for the built environment. The exhibition also serves to expand the influence of and lay the groundwork for conversations around construction innovation and how we might build more intelligently in the future.
